The An Post Smart Marketing Awards 2014
Highlights from one of the biggest nights in Irish Marketing
Neopost Ireland were proud sponsors of this year's event and we were even more proud to have been shortlisted in the Best Direct Mail category.
For many the festivities began in Café En Seine on Dawson Street, with lots of the attendees meeting there for pre-drinks, before nipping across the road, to the Mansion House's impressive Round Room, for the main event.
Greeted with a glass of bubbly, we found our places among a sea of beautifully-adorned tables. The biggest screen I've ever seen curved around the stage and the buzz of excitment in the room was palpable.
Our host for the evening was Oliver Callan and before we got into the cut and thrust of awards, Oliver had us all in stitches with his hilarious impersonations of some of Ireland's most recognisable voices. Then it was time for the main event. The reason we had all gathered. The awards.
As we sat and enjoyed a beautiful meal, awards were dished out across the various categories. It was great seeing these agencies and marketing teams getting the recognition they deseerved but I was eager to see how we had fared in the Best Direct Mail (Low Volume) category.
Eventually, it was time. The other shortlisted campaigns in our cateogry flashed up on the massive screen. They looked really impressive. Some of them were outright stunning. All of a sudden I didn't fancy our chances. I new our campaign was strong and had achieved phenomenal results but it didn't have the big visual 'wow' factor that some of the other campaigns had.
Imagine my surprise when Neopost were announced winners. It was fantatstic. The whole team rushed up on stage to get the award. And what an award!
The new 'Foxies' look amazing and we were proudly sawinging ours about for the rest of the eveining. What a night!
This year, the team from the An Post Mail Media Unit really outdid themselves. The venue was spectacular, the food was fab and the entertainment on the night was spot on. We also got to bring home and great award which really was the cherry on top.
