He was re-appointed in 2010 for a further 5 years. Prior to his appointment, he worked as a Civil Servant in a number of Government Departments, including Finance, Foreign Affairs and Enterprise, Trade and Employment

Prior to joining An Post, Linda worked with the Competition Authority as a competition lawyer and analyst on Mergers and Acquisitions, EU and International Competition Policy and was a regular representative at meetings of the OECD, European Commission, European Competition Network and the International Competition Network for national enforcement agencies.
Her practise incorporates both cross-sectoral and most sectoral areas of regulatory law including Media and Broadcasting, Postal and Telecommunications, Data Protection, privacy and Information technology and security.
She is a graduate of UCD and the University of Hanover, a member of the Law Society of Ireland and was a PhD candidate on full scholarship to the European University Institute in Florence.
