May 2007 Neopost announces Credipac & Manual Reset decertification

 

Is your current franking machine a Credipac or Manual Reset model? Please note that Neopost is currently issuing a decertification notice to all Credipac and Manual Reset customers.

Until now, the Neopost Group has managed with success to guarantee the supply of spare parts and consumables to all our distributors and subsidiaries. When several suppliers informed us of their decision to stop manufacturing parts (due to volume being considered too low or components becoming obsolete), the Neopost Group sustained our supply by purchasing a security stock in our warehouse.

 

Unfortunately, we have now started to experience major difficulties in supplying many spare parts on a regular basis. It is in particular critical for specific parts of manual reset meters. The problem is getting worse rapidly. As we will no longer be in a position to get access these spare parts, we have decided to stop all supply of spare parts for 205-4300-4400-7000-8000 meters and all Ascom Hasler Franking machines. This will be effective from October 31^st, 2007.

At present to reset your Neopost franking machine you send your credipac module to An Post, who reset the credit value on the module on a Credipac server and return this module to you.

   It is with regret that we must inform you that the CREDIPAC System is today totally obsolete in Software and Hardware (using C. programming language, operated under DOS system on a 286 PC, etc…): supplies of parts are already very difficult to obtain, & support from software and hardware manufacturers is no longer available.

 

   As a consequence, from April 30^th 2008 we will no longer be in a position to offer the necessary service to ensure the continuity of the operation of the CREDIPAC System.
